Location: Over Neshaminy Creek and Bridge No. 115 over Core Creek, Bucks County, PA Client: Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Description:
This roadway widening and realignment project involves two bridges: (1) a new 2-span (290 ft) bridge over Neshaminy Creek along a new alignment for Bridgetown Pike (SR 413); and (2) a simple-span (68 ft) replacement bridge over Core Creek along SR 2010. Problems resolved by VFL on this job pertain to the presence of soft, alluvial deposits under proposed bridge approach fills. VFL developed a cost-effective lightweight fill option to mitigate potential settlements. Design (Prefinal and Final): - Reconnaissance soils and geological engineering report
